In this write up today, we will be looking at the salary structure of our Nigerian Police Force, just like we did in our previous post where we looked at the salary structure of the Nigeria Air Force. The write up will be detailed as we would be looking at how much each of the ranks in the Nigeria police force get paid. Each salary grades within the structure has three different salary structure as at when of this post and they are: –

Grade A Salary

The salary of a Police Officer in grade A is paid between N80, 000 to a maximum of N185, 000 per month depending on his level rank.

Grade B Salary

The salary of a Police Officer in grade B is paid between N65, 000 to a maximum of N130, 000 per month depending on his level rank.

Grade C Salary

The salary of a Police Officer in grade C is paid between N50, 000 to a minimum of 50000 per month depending on his level rank.

Grade A and tier one

No matter what salary grade salary you are paid in the Nigerian Police Force, as long as your salary falls under salary grade A1-A6+ tier one in the salary structure that means your salary is between N80,000 to a maximum of N185, 000 per month regardless of what rank you hold.

Grade B and tier two

No matter what salary grade salary you are paid in the Nigerian Police Force, as long as your salary falls under salary grade B1-B4 +tier two means your salary is between 65, 000 to 130,000 per month regardless of what rank you hold.

Grade Cand tier three

No matter what salary grade salary you are paid in the Nigerian Police Force if your salary falls under the Grade C1 -C2 salary tier salary that means your salary is between 50, 000 to 100000 per month regardless of what rank you hold. Another way to remember the salary structure and salary grade level for a Police Officer in Nigeria is by this simple acronym M A P S where M stands for Millionaire (185, 000) ; A stands for 80, 000 – 185, 000 “middle salary” salary; P stands for 65, 000-130.000; S stands for 50,000-100,000 so basically it’s a matter of being at the right salary level within the Nigerian Police Force because no matter which salary grade you fall under you will be getting paid handsomely whether as an NCO or as a Police Inspector if you are in salary grade A salary level. The salary of 100 levels in the salary structure of the Nigeria Police Force will be paid to all officers that qualify and get into salary grade A salary level regardless of what rank they hold, even to the police officer at the lowest rank he is still getting a salary starting from N80, 000 per month which means that junior ranks are paid more than their senior ranking superiors because they fall under salary grades lower than their seniors. OK being very clear about it here I’m going to list down for you below each salary scale by using the example of salary scale A3(1) as an example with its breakdowns and how much each break point salary stands for Here’s a breakdown on how much each grading within Salary Scale A3 (1) salary structure stands for: The salary of a police officer in salary scale A3(1) salary  structure falls under the salary grade level salary range of N80, 000 –65, 000 per month.

Grade A3 Level 1 Salary Break point

This breakpoint salary is paid to an Officer holding any rank from Assistant Superintendent to Divisional Police Officer (DPO). So if you are a ASP and your salary scale level is determined to fall within the salary range of N80, 000- 65,000 per month then this breakpoint will be what they will pay you as your take home salary. If you happen to be ranked below that position but still falls within the same salary range e.g. salary range of N80, 000 – 65,000 per month.

 Level 2 salary level

This salary breakpoint is paid to an officer who holds the rank of Senior Superintendent and above. So if you are a SSP with salary scale level A3 (1) then this will be your salary breakpoint because it falls within salary range of N80, 000 -65, 000 per month which means that you will fall under salary grade paid between N65, 001 –130,000 per month depending on your level rank in the Nigerian Police Force.

Level 3 salary level

This salary breakpoint is only for DIGs and those holding ranks above them. E.g. Commissioner/ Deputy Inspector General etc… So if you are a Deputy Inspector General holding salary scale level A3 (1) salary grade then this salary  breakpoint will be what you will be receiving as your salary paid to you because it falls within salary range of N80, 000 -65, 000 per month which means that you will be paid between N65, 001-130,000 per month depending on your level rank in the Nigerian Police Force.

Level 4 salary level

This salary breakpoint is only for those at the TOP DECK meaning Commissioners and above so if you are a Commissioner or higher ranked officer with salary scale level A3(1) salary  grades then this is what you’ will be getting as your monthly take home income just like all other Commissioners and above salary breakpoint salary breakpoints.

Level 5 salary level

This is the highest salary break point that one can get when on Salary scale A3 (1) salary grades because it’s only paid to the Inspector General of Police who receives monthly take home pay starting from N185, 000 per month as his base pay paid to him at this highest and final breakpoint where you will be getting such a huge amount no matter what rank you hold in your Nigerian Police Force career.
